========== WRITTEN TEST ==========
A streak of brilliant azure is visible between a tear in the heavy clouds hanging in the sky as Zar’roc trots down the streets of Andalusst. It seemed hard to believe what had happened yesterday. First fighting to save the city, and reactivating the great statue only to find that it was actually a fairly decent fellow. Zar’roc gazed up at the clouds and nodded slowly. They seemed to represent the general mood of the population. Mixed. The people that were all for the great statue being among them could be represented by that gap in the clouds. A small portion, but they were a bright and welcome addition to the mood of the city, while everyone else felt uneasy and worried. He shook his head to clear his mind. He wasn’t here to ponder such things; he was headed towards the Explorer’s Guild Hall to take Luke up on that offer.

While the Explorers Guild Hall isn't exactly the most eye-catching building, it still has a somewhat homely feel to it, even though Zar’roc had only just entered it. It was like their second home…it was hard to get this feeling though. Perhaps it was the camaraderie of the guild members. Even Kaza seemed to relax a bit. The Explorers seem to have a certain unmistakable aura to them, though one in particular happened to meet their gaze. The Servine leaning against a nearby wall inclines her narrow snout toward them and gives a little nod, her bright eyes briefly visible under the shadow of her hat. "Hey... New, are you?" She speaks with a hint of caution, but her tone is otherwise welcoming. "Hmm, stupid question. 'Course you are, I never seen you before. Admittedly I'm not great with this meet and greet stuff, so how about exchanging names to start things off? You first."
Zar’roc nodded and gave a small bow. “Greetings, fair lady. I am Zar’roc, and my quiet companion is Kaza.” Kaza looked away, but gave a small wave, his grip on Zar’roc’s fur tightening when his name was mentioned.

The Servine relaxes a little when she hears their introduction, folding her small arms across her chest. "Ahh, that's great.  Yeah, when you said your name just then, it had that... that "zing". It means you're serious about this, yeah? Also, you don’t gotta be so formal when you talk to me, the name’s Teresa.  I'm what you'd call a Guild Assistant, which makes me your Serperior.”

The room fell into an uncomfortable silence as Zar’roc and Teresa stared at each other with blank faces. The moment was only broken when Kaza burst out into a fit of giggles, and then Teresa giggled a bit as well. "You know, you don't have to be so polite. I don't really care about rank and file, but I do care about honesty. If I tell a joke and it sucks, feel free to roll your eyes."

Zar’roc chuckled and nodded, relaxing a bit. “Dully noted.”

Teresa extends one of her thin, green vines and nods, expecting a handshake even though she keeps her arms folded. "So what brings you here, anyway? You from out of town, or...?"

“Ahhhh, well that’s a tale on its own, so I’ll just give you the short version.” Zar’roc said. “Yes, we are out of town, but we just happened to hear of this place by chance and decided to check it out. We’re drifters for the most part, but I’ve taken a liking to this place, and we have a home…so we’ll be staying, provided there are no objections.”
Satisfied with your answer, Teresa nods and withdraws her vine. "Cool, cool... Well, whatever the case, you've got a name in mind for your group, right? I didn't get a chance to check your papers, but I do want to get more familiar with our rookie members when I have the time. I'm kinda new to this whole assistant thing, honestly."

Zar’roc seemed a bit perplexed, and then a smile spread across his face. Luke had taken him to the Guild Hall before to ask about Zar’roc and his interests in joining the Explorers. He must have been asking those questions to fill out their papers. “Ah, right. We are Team Arlion.”

A smile creeps over her narrow features when she hears the given name of their team, though it's ambiguous as to whether she found it inspiring or amusing for other reasons. "There's that "zing" again. Feels good to know we've got Pokémon like you joining our Guild. I guess Cassidy wasn't exaggerating when he said the standouts just keep pouring in. Just don't get cocky - confidence is good, but overconfidence in a dungeon is a quick way to get yourself in trouble, along with everyone else in your party." She taps the side of her snout, then clicks her tiny fingers as another question enters her mind. "Oh right, this is very important - why did you want to become an Explorer, hm? Just curious..."

Zar’roc closed his eyes and pondered his words. This was a very reasonable and important question. Admittedly, he’d been thinking of joining for Kaza’s sake, and the opportunity did just sort of spring up when the great statue attacked. Still, how exactly would he say it? He stayed quiet until he was satisfied with the answer he’d come up with.  “Well, I suppose I would simply like to be a hero. It’s a childish goal, but it’s important to the both of us.” Kaza smiled softly as he heard Zar’roc’s explanation, and nodded.

She listens quietly, and the moment Zar’roc was finished she immediately begins speaking again, her words leaving her mouth more rapidly and urgently than before. "...Because ultimately, the people come first, yeah? There's lots of food in the dungeons, and materials for clothing and medicine! When we go out and find that stuff, it means everyone here gets to have dinner. I mean, you know that, obviously, but just don't forget!" Teresa sways her leaf-adorned tail from side to side and taps her foot, momentarily distracted by her own thoughts, a wanting grin plastered across her face. When she snaps back to reality, she lifts her snout into the air and clears her throat. "N-not to sound standoffish, but what exactly do you do, anyway? What skills or talents do you have to offer the Guild? Everyone's good at something, I think."

This was another simple and reasonable request, she wanted to know their capabilities for future reference. "Well, I am strong and fairly durable, and Kaza is excellent for support." Zar'roc explained. "How much detail you want though is up to you."
Teresa folded her arms. "Lay it on me."

"As you wish." Zar'roc said. "My primary abilities lie in offense, but I can supplement my speed with Quick Attack should the need arise. For large groups, I have Perish Song, but I'd rather not use it. It's a rather cruel and painful attack, after all. As for Kaza, he has no offensive capabilities whatsoever. He is pure support and defense. He knows Protect, Teleport, Double Team, and Flash. He's quite handy with them, really. He's got some creative-"

Before Zar'roc had finished properly answering, Teresa clicks her fingers and purses her lips, as if hearing that mythical zing yet again. "I can just feel it, you do what you do and do it with everything you've got. 'Cause in this guild, when a giver gives, then the giver gets... gotten... gets give-- eh, well you get what you give, or something. Whatever, it's written down on that big plaque in the hall. Just do your best and come see me if you need any help." Terese sounded much more cheerful than when she'd first approached then, she gave them a little wave and turns to immediately engage another group of recruits nearby, no doubt asking them similar questions. The life of a Guild Assistant must be a busy one.
Heya everyone I'm getting back into PMDU since it's starting back up again. Sorry for being a little late to the party! I'll slant the lines when I figure out how to....

Team Facts -
Zar'roc found Kaza three years ago, a nine year old abra, huddled under a tree and clutching a small brown bag.

Zar'roc likes the company of others, being groomed, taking baths, boasting about his “accomplishmentsâ€, and music.

Zar'roc is dislikes off-key singing, someone stepping on his paws, his tail being tugged, bullies, a one-sided fight, people that try and force their opinions on other people, being judged, being held back, and thieves.

Zar'roc has had a long history, and for the most part in his past, he was a drifter, with constant, fickle, but strong desires to try and find his lot in life. He had tried many things. He tried being a daycare assistant, but he quickly got the feeling he was suppressing himself and left. He then tried teaching others, and this lasted him about two months, but he grew tired of it as well. He drifted between jobs like this, picking up experience and honing his silver tongue. He even tried being a hero, but he found it difficult to seek out crime when there wasn't much, and nobody saw him when he did find crime, so he discarded the thankless task. However, after finding Kaza like he did, and in rather bad shape, he took him in. He had been getting rather lonely, so a companion was more than welcome.
One of Zar'roc favorite things to do is flirt, generally with more mature females, but if a boy is pretty enough and stays quiet, Zar'roc may make mistake them for a female, which can lead to an awkward situation.

Zar'roc has a spot at the side of his neck, where if deliberately scratched, he will raise one of his hind legs and start scratching himself

Zar'roc has a good sense of direction, and the absol's innate ability to predict disaster has come in handy more than once, letting him know when he should rent a room or skip town altogether.

Zar'roc believes that a healthy body is one of the keys to a good life, so he exercises plenty every day, and even makes Kaza run laps, even if he is a psychic type. A strong body leads to a strong mind.

Kaza has a hard time with his first impressions, and unless there is someone making him stay there, he may just end up running away.

Kaza likes books, trees, quite places, peace, bread, magic tricks, music, sweet candies, and cooking

Kaza is terrified of sudden noises, violence, blood, strangers (Scary people), darkness, lots of people all shouting

Kaza has a few hobbies, such as reading (Oh, Kaza LOVES his books. After all, for three years of his life that he's been with Zar'roc, he spent a great portion of each and every day poking his nose into a new book, and he knows he's read stories before, because some of the are familiar to him), playing his flute (He’s not bad, but he’s not exactly the best. He's had it for as long as he can remember, but he's sure it's important), and baking. Kaza likes to bake whenever he can, and to him, bread means safely. It's his comfort food, because you can't make bread without an oven, which means you have to be at a home.

Kaza can also take people or things nearby him with him when he teleports, so if something lands on him while he's eating pancakes, he might take the chair and table with him....and need help getting it back. Also, if he's holding someone's hand and you scare him...if he doesn't teleport away, he'll be dragging them along, even if they're a good bit heavier than him.

Has a weak spot right behind his ears. Scratch there, and he can't help but purr. Effective for calming him down.

Kaza has a fairly good memory, and can easily map out places in his head, so it's pretty hard to get lost with him around...however, he really likes to look around when he's someplace new, so you'll have to check and make sure he's still with you.

Kaza is actually rather fond of water, and as a fairly good runner (Goodness, Zar'roc made sport out of making him run in terror, called it “fitness trainingâ€) he's got good lungs and decently capable legs to swim around with.

Kaza HATES having his tail stepped on, and if you just wanna be a jerk, twisting is tail is a pretty fast way to get him crying for mercy.
